>>1755977>>1760380Go to AZGFD website or office and buy a hunting license. Also pick up the 2020/2021 regulations booklet and read it front to back at least 3 times. You need to understand the regs and where you can hunt, what you can hunt and the season dates. You only really need 3 weapons to hunt in AZ.
1. 12ga or 20ga shotgun with removable chokes.
Use for rabbit,squirrel,doves,quail,turkey and duck.
2. 6.5/ .308/ 7mm centerfire rifle with scope.
Use for permit big game animals in the general season. Bear, elk, pronghorn, deer, sheep, mountain lion and bison.
3. Bow with 50lb draw weight.
Use mainly for non-permit (OTC) deer and javelina and permit (Draw) big game animals if you want.
I recommend starting with a shotgun and hunting small game and the upland birds because the hunting is much easier, its more fast paced and the initial cost to get started is lower.
You also need to bring a cooler to keep your game fresh and learn how to field dress the animals.
Here's some videos to get a look at small game/upland hunting.
