The Appalachian Trail Conservancy has asked all hikers to postpone their trips. It's not about what you think about COVID. It's incredibly disrespectful to continue hiking it when the caretakers ask you not to. People can hike the trail, they just shouldn't.

The ATC, for the first time ever,, is asking hikers to not hike on the trail for a while. It sucks, and we all want to be out hiking, but if there is one hiking related organization we should respect more than any other, the ATC should be it. Because I respect them, and the trail, it's my responsibility to honor those requests, no matter how I personally feel.

Honestly, I'm at the point where I think if you're still on the AT then you're a selfish b@$&ard and if you get sick you should be left on your own in the woods you so dearly love. We'll find your body next spring.
