Bring a pencil, some cash ($20 will almost always cover it, bring a 10, 5, and a few 1s... ask the VEC how much it is), drivers license, FRN if you have that, copy of a current license (if any), pens, pencils, eraser, and a 4-function calculator. They probably won't let you use your phone. IIRC I was able to use my TI86. Ask the VEC.
Relax, it's all multiple choice.
Read the question, read all the answers. They're worded the exact same as what's in the question pool and practice exams, but the letters are mixed up (Don't just memorize "This question is A, that question is C"... memorize the answers).
When I took my tech exam there were a bunch of kids taking the test (8-10 years old) that passed. General was in a church full of old guys... that was a really weird club where I took it.
It's worth it... my licenses even make it onto my resume (RF test/measurement is a big part of my career).
