I'm from the east coast. Depends whether we're talking about the Highlands or the Lowlands. I have to say I live in a pretty flat and boring part of scotland. If you want the best place, and I'm sure you know, just go up north and hit the west coast. That's where Scotland turns beautiful.

Are you near the east coast yourself or just planning to camp there? I can't really help...it's a bit crap here to be honest.

Well I'm in the northern reaches of Angus. Recently I've been trying to get a few more of my mates than usual out with me, one or two are in to it but some still just think camping is drinking near trees. TBH I more just meant for little overnighters and stuff than proper expeditions.
