My mora, which as I said is over 20 years old now. Was my first real knife, and I still use it. Pardon the half-assed polish, that was a while ago and was mostly to remove some varnish stain I got on it. I use it a lot for wordworking, marking knotches, making guiding cuts, etc.
A nice razor sharp carbon kitchen knife (started sharpening/polishing, stopped halfway just to show the difference).
And then my sharpening kit. The stone and strop can be used seperately or together. Most times just a dozen passes on a strop is good enough. The stone is when I really want it to shine or the edge needs it. Maybe only a few times per year. The loupe is a nerdy novelty especially for knives. You can see micro-nicks and check the angles.
