>>177450There are a couple of things to consider when choosing a campsite. What part of the park do you want to see? You can't see the north half (canyon) and the south half (geysers) in 3 or 4 days. Once you decide what you want to see (I'd say the geysers first because they're more rare than canyons, but the canyon is spectacularly beautiful) then you choose a campground.
The first time I camped there we had ice on the outside of the tent when we got up. It was July 4th. Be prepared for chilly nights.
