I've never caught any bluegill on spinner bait but they might depending on the size of the spinner and the fish. I would just use a jig with either a worm on it or a artificial worm look a-like. Maybe like middle or bottom one on picture.

They’ll go for most anything. Worm and bobber is always rock solid though. I caught maybe 20 yesterday trying to stock up on catfish bait and it got to the point where I could dip a dry hook with no leader about 4 feet from the shore and they’s still bite. I think its more about presentation style with them, lighter tackle with some rise and fall action. The bigger ones usually wait for the little guys to in and investigate first so keep the retrieve pretty slow and you should be fine, almost like more of a jigging action.

Went Saturday. Purchased an inflatable fishing yak and had a blast. Had to hit the bay because only 3 county lakes are open, and the faggots in office don't want to open the other 9 because 'muh budget' thanks to covid.

I went spear fishing (Hawaiian sling) off in a nearby coral reef. Saw a big fish (bar jack) thought he looked pretty cool and decided not to shoot him out of respect. Saw another group of fish, decided not to shoot out of pity for killing one of the lads in the group, killing a bro. Came home empty handed. Saw a massive nurse shark and some cute damselfish though. Yeah, I make a great fisherman, but when I forgot my knife and had to bang a rock on a mojarra’s head until I felt it’s death shivers...yeah, I haven’t caught anything since. I should just shore fish catch and release I guess

Look up your local waters, and I mean really look go on Google maps and investigate every pond lake and river.

I found a canal 10 mins drive away has plenty of big pike, brought a rod reel and pike lures, had a fucking blast.
