On a trip to Asia I could use it to check out reptiles in the trees and so on.
I keep it on my backpack's hip belt, in its storage pouch, but it got dusty and sandy from being thrown around. I cleaned it with a cotton swab and the small lens came looks, and can now spin around its optical axis. Didn't affect the image though.
I'd recommend it if you're looking for a decent inexpensive spotting scope. Weighs way less than binoculars and you just might end up having good use for it.
