What's /out/ like in Croatia? I'm considering going there with a car and sleeping out wild if possible. I'm curious how strict the law is when it comes to camping and what are some good places to visit. It would most likely be July.

Cro here, I wouldn't really advise leaving your car anywhere outside designated camping areas. Penalties for wild camping can go up to 1500 euros. But maybe you'd be fine if you find someplace out back, regulations are rare farther away from bigger cities.

You can find camping spots if you just go somwhere farther away where there wont be regulating stuff.

Also there are plenty mountain shelters, you can be there for free as long as you leave enough wood when going away.

I looked into this before. I heard from a Croatian that police won't bother you if you're not near tourist spots. If you can get away with it then you should bring a bike and ride to your spot, because obviously empty car innawoods is gonna attract attention. Also fishing license is mad cheap so it's worth it to get a day or week pass. I was thinking of doing the woods northeast of Pula

close enough im from serbia but i dont think croatia is any different when it comes to hospitality
