>>1795087>>1795100Don't need to filter water here, barely any people in the mountains and no water borne diseases.
The nalgene is non negotiable as a safety item, had to coax people back from the edge of hypothermia before after they've fallen while crossing a river of snow and glacier melt and soaked all their clothes and sleeping bag.
I have a toaks 750 but the issue is a lot of the mountain stations out here and towns in general don't sell the 100g gas canisters so it makes storage a minor issue, I've carried it before and it works but it becomes more hassle, plus the lid on the snow peak is a frying pan and occasionally that comes in handy despite being titanium. The plastic cup lives in my hip belt pocket, I stop every hour and have a drink from the nearest convenient stream. But you are right, I'll get a pair of silicone hot lips for the lid of the snow peak so I can have coffee and breakfast at the same time and just use the nalgene to drink from streams, worth a try at least.
>>1795238I've run out of TP on winter trips before, honestly snow isn't that bad, the ideal is alternating wipes with TP and snow.
>>1795258I'm 5'8 and with an inflatable pad its barely big enough for me, don't put yourself in this coffin. Maybe get a duomid XL and the Duo inner or some DIY bug net and poly cry floor?
