I'm planning to go dispersed camping for the first time with my folks (party of 4) in the Northern Florida / Southern Georgia area.

Mosquitos are huge

Plan to not do much in late afternoon as thats the hottest part of the day. Also, it rains almost every day in the afternoon so be prepared.

I shit you not that's exactly how it feels in the summer down here but if you can stand the heat and the bugs and the snakes and the skunkapes it's not too bad

Bring lots of water at least one gallon per person per day.

Tarps, rain gear and dry storage.

Make sure to visit some springs; they're crystal clear blue and absolutely beautiful. In the winter, manatees will swim inland and are (woefully) unskittish.

Yes.

Heat, humidity, rain, mosquitoes.

Normal camping stuff, you're really never too far from civilization here so you can grab whatever you need at walmart.

Depends how much you eat, and water is abundant but bring a filter obviously, there's not any crystal clear clean mountain spring water around here (well depending how far north you go, but south of the Appalachians anyway, and even in the apps it's not like the rockies or the sierras with pristine snow capped peaks lol).

FL camping is awesome. Northern FL shouldn't be too bad either. Better than south fl. Just be prepared for sudden 30 minute thunderstorms in the afternoon and hiking through knee deep water on the "trails." Also bring bug spray like others have said, mosquitos suck. Bring more water than you think you need on the first day and see how much you use on the next days. God speed anon

It's hot. Bring water, have a filter and know where you can find water. Mostly it's hot. I try to keep my weight down, because it is hot. I prefer sleeping in a hammock, because it is hot. Any tent will basically need to be all mesh, because it is so hot. It also rains a lot, so make sure you have proper rain gear. I usually bring an extra poncho to cover my pack with when i get to camp if it it rains.
