I want a place in northern MN where I can park my car on the side of a remote gravel road, leave it there as long as I want, and fuck off innawoods, not at a maintained campsite, just wilderness. Any suggestions on where to go?
Somewhere near Lake Superior would be cool. Somewhere near Ely would be cool too.

MN Native. I've only ever been up north several times for hunting. It's miles and miles of protected forrest. The entire northern half of the state is national and state forests with logging trails you can drive up into to fuck off temporarily or permenantely. Chippewa national forrest has hundreds of lakes and a cool section called The Lost 40. It's 144 acres that went unmapped, and therefore unlogged. Massive old growth. Or keep to the right side of the state and you have lake superior and even more forested land.

No, if you leave it for more than two weeks, don't expect it to be there when you return. Less if it's on an active trail or road. Also, the forest service will start looking for your body about the time your vehicle is removed. Park on someone else's land? Impounded when discovered or destroyed, depends on the land owner. We are talking Northern MN , so I'd expect it to end up charred in a pit somewhere.

So then can I not park alongside logging roads at all or can I for a few days? Is the 2 week thing some specific rule about a 2 week limit, or just a length of time you threw out?
When I was in Utah there were minimally maintained gravel forest service roads where people would park anywhere alongside and leave their car as long as they wanted with no issue, I want to find something similar to that in northern MN. I don't know if logging roads fit the criteria.

I have 25 acres north of Chisholm. You can park there but you'll need to have a high enough clearance you not bottom out on the ditch. If you're willing to pay for some 2x8s you could use them a ramp.

As far as I'm aware all state land is free game to camp on, you just have to move your camp site every two weeks. Also, ticks are bad this year. I've pulled almost 50 off me just working in my garden and on my property.

Loggers fly by on those roads. Expect your vehicle to be crushed like an aluminum can if you plan on parking near any logging roads because once Friday comes and those guys are thinking about going to the bar, you can bet they're not gonna be cautious at all. And they don't stop for cars, if you're driving by you better be half in the bush before they pass by. This is the only pic i have of the logging roads I use to get to my camp.

Hey retard, don't park on logging roads or trails. If you need to park for more than a couple of days, you'll have to find a lot or the very edge of a dead-end/turn-around. If your vehicle impedes equipment, it will removed. Left for more than 2 weeks, I'll be considered abandoned even with a note. The condition of the vehicle after will depend on the equipment/site operators. The forest service will have it impounded, loggers will drag or push it out of the way.

Nah, trust me. I live on Minnesota's Iron Range. Every forest road is used all of the time. If not by loggers than by DNR, sportsmen, or ATV guys. Someone will come by and either report it to the sheriff or fuck with it themselves. That's why I told OP to just park on the 25 acres I own and no one will fuck with it. I mean, I might shit in the airbox for the hell of it but no one would tow it away.

There's an old ATV trail that a friend made and widened out that we park on, and we don't spend more than 2 weeks. It's common knowledge to not park on any road because the loggers will log any given section without warning. For 5 years nearly the whole stretch was unused until last summer they randomly started back up. I don't mind because without them coming in the roads grow over and you have huge potholes and rocks and even a big truck has issues unless going under 20. Now that the loggers are back a friend made it back there in his 2 door
