From what I've found, Japanese anglers who are actually Japanese are very down to Earth and are damn fine fishermen, but AMERICAN anglers who exclusively use JDM stuff are some of the most pretentious guys.
The mentality of Japanese fishermen wanting the best tackle for reliability, presentation, finesse, etc. is very true, besides my Loomis rods, all my reels are basically JDM, 80% of my lures that I use are Japanese made (Jackhammer chatterbaits, 110 Vision, Lucky Craft crankbaits, etc.) and I can attest to this,
