Anybody here have a Jetboil Flash? Seems lit for homemade dehydrated meals and hot drinks. Anyone have any bad experiences with it?

i have been using zip for around 5 years
i remember someone put his kettle on it without the accessory panholder and whole thing melted like butter, so dont do that it might turn into a bomb

I got the minimo cause it was a sweet deal and I've been really impressed with it. Flash boils quicker but doesn't have the simmer and since I take Knorr sidekicks when I haven't dehydrated anything it works great. Either way jetboil is fantastic

the neoprene sleeve is a fucking bitch to get off for cleaning
and it's really easy to break the fucking warmness indicator paper thing since the fit of the sleeve is so tight
other than that, it's fantastic

They're all anodized dude. Protects it from corrosion.

Jetboils are awesome OP. They're super quick to boil even at high elevation. Don't waste your money on their brand of fuel tho. Any butane/propane mix will work fine.

In comparison to the Jet boil these are trash.
UNLESS you only care about weight/ size. The jet boils pack up into a super nice package but its kind of bulky.

Yeah, my main concern was size and price. I just didn't see the need to fork out that much to boil water a little faster. Jetboil definitely works a lot better but that's just not something I care about.

You can't officially cook with it unless you get creative. Suffers from numerous design flaws (wobbly base, pull tab by vents, only 3 rivets on the base). Burns through a lot of fuel.

If you can get a hold of the Primus ETA Lite you will have a better system for a lesser price.

Has it kind of right. Recycled titanium = no quality of the titanium used. Its not really fit for the purpose. Yeah its 25g, yeah its a meme stove for 20 bucks, but it isn't going to last. Also if you are in a windy environment or something that is going to prolong boil times, your arms will bend on you. Thats if you get a working one.

Then you didn't read anon. You get the burner, the pot that snaps on, the cozy, and a shitty lil cup that together boils water 3 minutes faster. Its supposedly efficient too but I guess I'll find out when I get mine.

Maybe I’m using the wrong fuel but it doesn’t work at altitudes about about 10,000ft. Just keep that in mind. And you HAVE to have a lighter on the side to light it because I guarantee that piezo igniter will fail the minute you need it most

Gas costs like $5 for a large cannister, average quality titanium 750mL pot runs anywhere from $15-$30 and the stove itself runs sub $20 if you're looking at brands such as etekcity

I'm sure it cooks water faster but I would much rather a higher quality pot that takes a little longer to cook vs jetboil shit

Nah, I've had a couple. the Jetboil is by far the best.
