In the US, where can I set up a tent or string up a hammock. When I was younger I used to go camping, but only in designated campground areas? Is it legal to just set up anywhere in a national forest? What are the regulations? If I am hiking and want to stop for the night, can I just set up camp anywhere? It has always been confusing as fuck to me. Sorry if this is a common question.
