most people think that boy scouts has been on the decline since the 90s. with all the diversity shit that will alienate their base (more than it already has.) I would be surprised if boy scouts survives another 20 years, although the OA might last longer.

They just declared bankruptcy a few months back. I doubt they're going to be rebuilding; maybe a similar organization will pick up as a result.

The BSA is only around because there are a handful of very rich guys that have/had good memories of it when they were scouts in the 50s 60s 70s. They donate a lot and a lot of them are leaving the BSA a lot of money in their wills. The BSA in the 80s 90s 00s was a lot different - I graduated hs in 01 and when I was a kid the only scouts were absolute faggots. So I anticipate the BSA running out of donors and, yes, alienating their base with all the rainbow/blm nonsense.

It wouldn't surprise me if the results of that bankruptcy means turning over all scouting organizations to their local chapters, and at most existing with a national registrar. Basically then it'd be only local issues for the scouting movements, with some changes to national events.

BSA had a huge affiliation with United Methodists and Mormons. The loss of the Mormons and the split of the Methodist Church, ironically for the same issue, if going to be a hard loss for BSA.

I mean the local scout leaders had a lot of latitude, but a lot of the pomp and ceremony for scouting was dictated by the national and regional levels. I'm sure things like scout uniforms and the like will be the same for at least a generation of new scouts, but when one or two divorcees looking to fuck their ex-husbands' bosses on a Thursday get pissed about the old uniforms not being "co-ed friendly" or some bullshit will make subtle changes here and there, until it's a crop of completely different organizations.
