>>1813721Lol Im from New England not the south.
Also cabin is the top of a boat house, pretty big, there are 4 twin beds up there, I had the one closest to the wood stove since I was the one waking up every two hours to feed it.
The last morning was really rough. My fever was getting bad, and I stopped feeding the stove around 6am so it would be cool enough to unhook the chimney after we finish packing up our sleds. My feet got so cold at one point, I scooped out the coals from the stove into a metal bucket and held my feet over it for a few minutes.
The walk across the lake was grueling, only a mile, but the wind was howling by. We are in the valley between two mountains so the wind can sometimes gust over 30mph, it was about 8f before wind chill. I had a -10 parka on but I did not have proper face protection, my beard was frozen solid and my lips were purple by the time we got to the car.
And then we got caught in a blizzard going up the east coast on the way back, the 600 mile drive that normally takes 9 1/2 hours ended up taking 12 hours, the highways were completely covered in snow as we got to the Sawhorse parkway and all the way through NYC.
I’m glad I went on the trip, but man the last 3 days really sucked.
