>>1809860I'm nearly 50, no one is really all that wise. Absolute truths are difficult, if not impossible to determine. The best you can really hope for are bits of reasonably functional working knowledge/information, but you must always be prepared for even the most seemingly solid absolute to wind up discredited to some degree or another by some fresh, unforeseen insight. Age can make a difference, purely in terms of years of experience and observation, but it's not assured by any means. I pick up things from people of all ages and types. It's one of the reasons I value 4chan, an idea/expression stands or not on its own merits without any other factors of who shared it needing to be known. The more fully that freedom of expression is allowed, the greater the opportunities for wisdom to be shared. Wisdom is essentially just an aspect of truth, it's pretty much just thinking/behaving in accordance with actual reality. I had a head full of shit in my 20s, some still holds, some has been discarded, and there's been plenty of new along the way. I am sure that there's plenty in there now that's bullshit and will be discarded someday, it's always a process. I still know plenty of folks that are a lot older than myself, by far most of them are relative morons, because most people in general are. Every now and then I might mine a useful nugget from one, but not nearly so much as I do from various Anons. People are a big fucking mess, your own best source of wisdom is yourself. Among the most important factors I know of, commitment to being honest with yourself is one of the greatest. Be honest about what you see/hear/think/feel/experience/etc, with yourself. Pay attention to anything and everything. Analyze. Study yourself, reflect upon your own motives, weed out dishonest an or weak tendencies, but also accept that no matter what you will always have some weakness or another and plenty of imperfections, just do your best despite whatever.
