>>1811311Honestly? My cheap, mass-produced, India-made mousehawk. Iron body with forge welded steel blade, which is ironically accurate, and has served me well for the past 7 years of heavy use in my dayjob as an interpreter add a living Museum, camping, gardening, and hobby reenacting. It's out-performed pretty much every hatchet I have either purchased or have been issued.
The handle has been shaped at the head with a rasp, and then coated in a layer of oil before being fire hardened. The head itself has some fine work that I've done on it over the years, that serve no purpose other than being an amusement/ interpretative moment at work.
obviously I'm not feeling a tree with it, but I have put together an entire brush shelters, and have done plenty of bushcraft with it.
