Is the jetboil a good investment to make? What are you thoughts about it and about the cons vs pros? Do you have any experience with the jetboil?

$80 for a stove well over 1lb that sounds like a jet engine, the justification being that you can’t wait an extra 3 minutes to boil water.

Spend money if it makes you happy (it shouldn’t, but that’s on you). Just don’t try to justify it in any way other than a neat gadget.

I love my jetboil. It boils shit so quickly, I can literally boil a cup, get my food prepped, eat, and as I'm cleaning up my other friends with their cheaper butane stoves are just finishing up heating their first cup of water.

Sure it weighs more than a simpler stove, but fuck it.

No, usually 5, because their stoves suck, elevation, and wind. My jetboil doesn't really give a shit if it's windy, if it's gusting, yeah I'll stack a rock barrier around it, but I usually don't.

I use a pocket rocket as well. I keep it in the plastic triangle case it came in and it always works. I bring the 8oz MSR fuel with me on my camping trips. I really only boil water for oatmeal/male coffee/heat MRE meals
