>>1820888I often twist plastic bags together to make a line and break a bottle in half and plug the plastic in the top- you can't even pick the bottle up quietly unlike phone bottles.
Someone could step over the line and you're not going to spend an hour making shit but on trails and against drunks it's great.
I've caught people trying to run up on me in the past and when you stand up they back off "just passing bro" or "hey man are you OK?".
You can also set a bait, something like a peaked cap or a basketball or something that someone approaching camp might just pick up- especially someone who came to cause you trouble.
Once I had the army find of one of my camps because they had entry points under watch and I was sloppy with leaving trails, when they set off a line and realized they weren't going to have the upper hand they just went home and someone had a word with me on the way out to tell me not to camp there again.
>>1820886Ideally you would, but in this capitalist world land is always used by someone for something.
In national parks if you leave a trail john smith might follow it by accident and not being the kind of person just to leave things be fuck with your shit.
You get people who are up to their own misdeeds by moonlight, kids having sex, people selling drugs, junkies taking drugs.
They are going to go to the same places you might and you get a sense for that after a while.
kids leave trash but don't go anywhere dirty, junkies usually go the the same spot, dealers don't go far from roads and often bring dogs.
