I would use it for a matchbox emergency kit I would keep on my person in case I was seriously injured or separated from my bag- that's when it's antiseptic qualities might be very relevant (though I am still researching this carefully).
Maybe there are other more available water purification/antiseptic chemicals or I might have to make do with blister packed tablets.
Seuchering needles aren't illegal but nobody will sell me any because they are concerned people will start doing their own doctor phil shit and someone will die. These concerns are not unwarranted- but in a marine environment or in Isolated areas this is do or die when it coupled to serious gashes.

When I was innajungle the kids all had them and were constantly bagging tiny birds they would grill for dinner, this super lightweight low effort hunting is very valuable.
Also niggerbirds keep eating my cherries in season and they always manage to get under the nets and are hard to get out.
