Heck, since I had to buy my own camping gear recently I got stuff as close to hers as possible. I was sort of into camping, but Yuru Camp got me a lot more involved and even lead me to take up fishing and crafts. Much better use of my time VS browsing /a/, vidya, YouTube, and cooming.
It's the reason why I think companies and people with political agendas want to influence vidya and shows. If a piece of media is well crafted and the characters lovable without shoving shit down your throat, you're more likely to relate to it.
