Some years ago they went around and filled all the mines on public land with foam then covered them with dirt.
By Ripley is the smelter think you can tour that now. Right out of Mason is quincy mill & dredge.
The quincy mine isnt too bad if you want to take a look at buildings & rock house and hoist house.
Delaware has a nice self guided underground tour.
Porcupine mountains arent too bad of an area, some small water falls & creeks & nice trails. There was a military plane that crashed there, think you can hike to it & look at the whats left of it
By Garden Corners theres Kitch-iti-kipi, a big spring that you can go out to the middle of on a raft. Fayette Historic State Park is also in that area, think that was a smelter for iro ore.
Think that somewhere along the shoreline with Lkae Mi, you can find Petoskey stones, fossilized coral.
