I'm preferential to a flask of scotch or a nice Irish whiskey for fireside sipping before bed.
Somewhat tempted leave a bottle of pic related behind for whomever camps after me

Can't do it. First time /out/ with a few buddies we forgot that water was an important thing so all we packed to drink was Sunny D and whiskey. The semi-metalic, obviously chemical taste makes me gag to this day.
Luckily there was a wicked thunderstorm during the trip so we managed to collect rainwater and survive. Lesson learned.

i usually just bring the straight sunny d bottles and vodka in the flask. then i mix them in some plastic bottle or whatever to get inebriated if i so please to avoid that disgusting metal taste. i know what you mean though with the acquired taste aversion. first time after getting black out and vomiting my head off the next day off of some cheap blue rasberry svedka, i still can't drink that garbage to this day without immediately wanting to throw up. i also generally hate the taste of alcohol too, which explains my degenerate tier choice of drink in the woods while my friends insist on their gay whiskeys

But whisky at 60%+ABV isn't meant to be consumed straight. It numbs your mouth to the flavour and generally isn't as comfy as it is when you water it down to ~45%ABV.

It kind of depends on the time of year. In the fall or winter something smoky like laphroaig 10 is nice, but in the summer it's too hot for whisky (I'm in Texas) so I go the tequila route, usually Don Julio blanco, shits fuckin cash.

If I'm not on the move and just casting out some bait in a lake or in the surf Lone Star beer it is.
