If you really want to help the environment and fight climate change then create a wetland. When it's raining go outside and find the area where all the water runs down to, and if your soil is filled with clay then you can dig down several feet and compact it with a tractor to make it hold water better. You can take some various plants from nearby lakes and just dot them around, they grow really fast. If done properly, with varied elevation and microclimates and structures, your wetland will be used by literally every single species in your area.
If you don't have any any wet spots, then create a grassland instead. You can start by figuring out what types of grasses and plants are native to your area, picking a few, and planting them. You can also throw in some annual cover crops like crimson clover to help add nitrogen and organic matter to the soil when it dies in the winter. If any invasive weeds are growing remove them. Birds and mammals will bring in seeds as time goes on and it eventually become a diverse ecosystem with a different plant in every niche, meaning no weeds can grow without facing competition. If you see deer or other animals eating the plants, don't panic, because that means you have created a successful ecosystem.
