You're not even allowed to bring deodorant cans ,or cigarette lighters let alone flammable gas
Checked luggage goes in the hold and it's very hard to access or fight fires down there- if they even can.
Furthermore the container is only designed to store gas at a certain altitude, the higher you go the more the air pressure drops and the greater the difference.
This is effectively the opposite of what happens to a submarine.
Generally the tolerances on gas storage vessels are quiet high- but baggage is often damaged by handlers.
Take it out.
If you're through security you better alert them- they may delay the flight or make a big deal out of it but that's because it's a big deal
