I went into a geology career. My director offered me to work analyzing data for an article. The article is in paleoceanography, observing marine diatoms through the microscope. But I have developed a shit ton of eye floaters. I don't think I can survive in academia nor keep doing this for a long while. I actually want to work in a /out/ job, if only not to get blind. I wished to shit tons of papers and do the shit scientists do. But maybe my body isn't up for that.

You can get clothes/shoes/backpack/water bottles everything
you need for dayhikes from your local thrift store

I went camping recently in my local area and now that lockdown has been partially lifted there was shit tonnes of tourists. Tonnes of camper vans and the like, I was the only local. The tourists had wrecked every trail there was. Litter lying all around and everything.

Once one of the car parks was empty I built loads of small fire pits using big stones lying around and scrap wood lying around. I spread them out just enough so that the car park can't be used without parking in the middle of the road and moving a bunch of stones and wood. The smoke also helped ward off midges while I was there. Then to finalise my deterrent I went on the most heavily used trail and found an area where there was a forced bottle neck and took the biggest shit I possibly could right on the trail. It was like a foot long and coiled up like a snake.

I just hope I managed to deter some of them from coming back next year. I am the lorax and I speak for the trees. The trees say fuck off, we're full.
