Maybe this is too meta, but what if someone had a bunch of cringe gear yet was very competent, and a good role model in their behavior? Is the gear still cringe, or does it become neutral?
Isn't the cringy part when some dude LARPs that he's a bushcraft survivalist or a UL fag yet can't hardly do 1 mile without catching their breath?
