snakes sometimes get baled up in hay from southern climes and escape alive in the north
they always die in the winter though
here in the Yukon, we've had several garter snakes spotted and I think once someones escaped pet snake
also, cacti grow naturally as far north as Ft. St. John in northern BC and potentially could be growing in very remote areas of southeast Yukon or spread naturally to Yukon and Alaska under a warmer climate
