>>1849745>>1849758then buy some bullet weights and bell weights in the 3/32-3/8 ounce range for texas rigging, as well as dropshotting. add in some heavier weights like 1 ounce egg or bell sinkers for catfish, some beefy barrel swivels, and some beads for catfish, and your terminal tackle is complete.
buy some assorted lures, whatever looks good to you really. senkos, curly tail grubs, flukes, crank baits, poppers, spooks, frogs, and crawfish imitations are good. some people like spinner baits, i dont. some inline spinners can be useful though. add an assortment of bobbers, a tackle bag, and there's not much you cant catch in nc. fishfinder rig for catfish and carp; basic bobber rig for panfish; and texas rigs, dropshot rigs, wacky rigs for bass.
good baits for catfish are shrimp, shad, bluegill and other panfish, and chicken livers are my favorite. wrap the chicken livers up in pantyhose so they dont fall off the hook.
panfish like earth worms, wax worms, maggots, minnows, grasshoppers, crickets, and just about anything else they can fit in their mouths; including small bits of a cut up panfish from the group you're currently fishing.
bass can be caught on live bluegills and sometimes cut bait, but most people use artificial lures for them. (2/2)

>>1849746i've heard of beads being used on fish finder rigs to protect knots, and over hooks for perch, but thats a new one on me. hey if it works, more power to you. i'd consider clear glass beads, too, to get just clicking with no added visuals
>>1849753i've never bothered with it.
