Yeah I really didn't like the akimbo the one time I've used it. Way too sticky, like making my hand cramp from how hard I had to squeeze it. though maybe it just wasnt well dialed but the guy I borrowed from said he had it adjusted for 11mm. I dunno. I hated it.

The BDB is a great device, but the rope runner pro is far away its superior.
The original RR was so good that it was still the best option without midline attachment being easy.

One rigs, one cuts. Extremely efficient when doing a bunch of removals. I think we removed 25-30 substantial hardwoods at that job.

I dunno man it's still setting off alarm bells for me. One of those rigs goes sour and your other climber has no escape route. What's preventing you from just rigging from the ground? Seems like it would be more work and more risk to set up a second climber and not that much benefit. You need people on the ground anyway to untie and process your pieces. Also are you even taking picks on the crane? Cause it looks like you're just dangling off it, lol. Might as well be a bucket truck but 10x as expensive no? Am really curious to see how this method nets you any efficiency

Have you ever done crane work? Normally the guy rigs, descends down, lanyards in to the tree then makes the cut.

This way one guy rides the ball up, rigs, descends to ground. Other guy cuts, the first guy that rigs then undoes the rigging and then ties back into the ball, rides up and rigs again. Meanwhile the other guy positions himself for the next pick/cut. We run three man crews, one chips/manages brush and logs, one rigs, one cuts. Make sense now?

Yeah that makes sense, just not how we do it. We always run a single climber on crane jobs, which for us are pretty uncommon to begin with. When you say "rig" it sounds like you're talking about lowering the piece on a rope, which is where I got confused.

Having a choker setter is a serious time saver, especially when you're dealing with one guy who is old school (solid on a spark, great with a big saw) and one who is more modern (adept at moving through the canopy).
I've done crane jobs where fully 50% of the time the crane is in motion. It gets wood on the ground.

Easily lost? Not even the original. I ran mine for two years of climbing and dropped the pulley once out of hundreds of disconnects.
They're capable of being captured in the RRP, so there's no drop hazard at all.
It's the greatest multicender on the market. There is really nothing on its tail. Kevin Bingham is also one of the coolest guys in the industry.

Size doesn't matter. The tie in point is always down. Keep your crotch within 180° of the TIP.
I'm not a big guy, but 90% of my pruning cuts are 1" or smaller, and I do that shit as fash as hack companies can take huge cuts at the trunk.

I really like having the right tool for the job.
I'm also a solid feller and I'll swing a 660 on spurs all day if I have to.
And my open ascent is somewhere between 12 and 15 seconds.
I've worked all over the south east and played with world class contract climbers for years. Come at me and my 5k worth of climbing gear, bro.
