What do you think of the Jack Wolfskin 1-man tent for autumn and winter camping?

Any other suggestions for affordable one man tents?

Is that the Gossamer? Of so, I didn't like it's setup at the feet. You needed to have guy outs, otherwise it would sag.

There was a very small weight penalty for the vestibule, it made sense. Without one it would be hard to keep the rain and snow out.

Not the tent id be looking for, but OK.

for me, my 1 man tent (weschel) is for spring and summer, honestly it just gives a little more bug protection then a tarp setup

for autumn and winter i go with a bigger tent, even if i am alone, because condensation becomes to much more important

in winter. exhalation is a problem. unironically, the way i winter camp is a thick sleeping bag and a tarp,
wind is low in winter
no bugs
condensation isnt a problem if it remains breatehabeble

conditions are obviously different in different places, but for me this style of tent is only viable in dry seasons.
if rain is on the cards you want a tent that you can change out of wet clothes in, sort your gear in, and comfortably hang out in and cook in the vestibule of.

Did you look into Carintha bivy bag? It's like a small 1p. tent

Similar to what you're suggesting but maybe a bit more practical

In my experience, Jack Wolfskin stuff is always surprisingly good quality for the price, but there's definitely better options out there for a 4 season 1 manner.

I've had one, quality is great. Nice and low profile aswell.

Got rid of it tho, it's like a coffin. Comfy but you cannot situp in it, getting dressed is a hassle and especially a rainy day you'll be lacking room.

Not him, but yeah.. take along a lightweight silnylon tarp with you, and set it up in conjunction with your immediate shelter.
It's a beauty way to go.

You set up your tent a usual, then the tarp overhead as an awning for the area in front of your tent. It keeps the mud from following you in if it rains, and provides shade/cool air if it's sunny. Lightweight tarps are very easy to pack and the benefits largely outweigh the detriments.

Are you exhaling more in the winter? Generally it’s the other way around; condensation is a bigger issue in market temps due to higher humidity and more easily reached few points that time of year. It might be different where you live
