I regularly look for bones and have good success looking for them. but I haven't heard a lot of people talk about it. does anyone have any good tips and tricks for finding bones, I'll post some of my tips if anyone's interested.

How should I preserve my rattlesnake head? I have it frozen right now. I want to jar it in preservative with the mouth wedged open showing fangs.

i hear some people just toss the whole specimen in 70% rubbing alcohol but I don't know how well that keeps in the long term. Apparently if you use 90 or 99% it will cause the specimen to shrivel up. There's probably some fancy recipes with formaldehyde as well

I've got some whale bones at my dad's house if I go out there soon I'll take pics. I think I have 3 ribs and a few pieces of the spine. I would have taken all the rest from the beach but it was like a three mile walk home and I had no rope or anything to hold it with so I just had to try and juggle all the different bits in my hand.

I like looking at these, especially in museums where they tend to have many rare animals. More interesting to me than another screen where they show a video and text.
