>>1860316Had the original PST for a few decades before deciding to upgrade. Honestly the original is more tool than most of use will get use out of.
Picked up the Rebar a while back basically because its the "same" in the sense it they are similarly equip. Talked to my dad and we sent in his old seriously broke supertool and pst we found. First up both these serve the same function, if your are a Professional anything and use it everyday dont hesitate to get the supertool, but that being said the rebar only being a little smaller will do the job 99% of the time and is lighter to carry. It doesn't sound like much but if you don't use a multi-tool all the time the smaller one is going to find its way on your belt or in your pocket for that reason alone.
well its not the 90's and i realize there are fancy models.
If you don't carry a knife, the Wave has outward facing blades. Honestly this is the modern "entry" level has been for a bit. Its great, i don't own one myself, but its the one i'd gift to someone first. I really don't have much to complain, The quick access knifes are a gimmick in my book and make it less comfortable to use, but its really a non issue. The charge is basically its tougher brother which cost like 3x as much.
For smaller items; Juice and skeletool. Honestly pound for pound, these 2 might actually be the best. Obviously its not the heavy weight fight, but in my book the main question is WILL YOU CARRY it. If the answer is yes, then it will be there when you need it most. I have both, the skeletool i picked up for $20 at a knife shop and it me and a buddy were able to strip and splice some wires together on a jenky trailer all because i threw it in my pocket that day. Here is the deal, you use the pliers and cutters, the screwdriver set and and 1 knife 99% of the time you pull a multi tool, the other crap is usually dead weight.
