Does anyone here have experience living in California and Oregon?
We moved to the fucking Fresno area for work four years ago, and the wildfires/smoke is just getting worse - not to mention all the mexicans. Don't get me wrong, I'm not racist, but as a white man with a white son, I don't want to raise him here. We're tall, and I worry for him getting harassed by short little future gang members.
What's the outdoor scene like in Oregon? We're thinking somewhere south of Portland - cause fuck that place, I've been there - but we love wine, hiking, kayaking, and fishing, so someplace like Eugene or Salem seems more appropriate.
I know I'd miss how epic the Sierra Nevada is, but if it's all burning every season in enormous wildfires, in a decade there won't be shit left anyways. I figure we can easily fly from Portland to Fresno for cheap to do an annual trip anyways.
Any thoughts? Thanks for reading my blog post.
