As for the rest, I've got the Jääkäri L and the S and I should hopefully receive the M very soon. The S is totally alright as a daypack if you don't pack a ton as the straps start to dig in your shoulders with weights well over 8kg for a longer period of carrying.

>>1863541 said. Sure, the L can be rolled and packed relatively small but the dimensions on the M are still smaller. My gear for an overnighter fits perfectly into it. Don't know what you're trying to lug around but maybe you should reconsider how you pack.
Also, I'll use the Savotta sleeping pad, strapped under the M which leaves enough room for everything I may want to have, even for a few days which makes hiking pretty interesting. Base weight is around 6kg. Still not ultralight but thats because my sleeping bag is from the german army and my shelter is a heavy tarp.
