Hence the reason I want to get a bike that's a little more suited for that type of riding, and something that handles longer distances (read: bigger fuel tank, longer maintenance intervals) than what I have now.
40lbs of gear, tools, clothes, food/water gets real heavy after about 200 miles in the dirt.
Most of my riding is day-trips or easy overnights, often I'll truck out and base-camp somewhere in the woods and ride the technical trails with a smaller pack rather than make a 2- or 3-day out of it and haul all my shit out there.
