The insane thing to understand for non-aus anons is that our state borders are basically imaginary lines. The only thing that changes is minor legislation that only affects you if you live there, so it's insane that there is an actual road-block enforcement of border crossing. One of our popular beach towns is literally split down the middle by the QLD-NSW border, it must be so hard to live on one side and have to travel thru to the other just to go to the supermarket.
