I'm trying to determine what is the best stove to have available for a longterm (apocalyptic) survival situation.

In considering a solution, please keep in mind that this stove could be required to boil alot of water for water purification, hydrating freeze dried food, etc.

I personally believe that the solution would be a small propane stove with an adapter to accept propane from a 20lb tank like you use on your barbecue.

Anyway, if you needed to prepare for the apocalypse, what kind of stove and fuel would you have?
