What's your opinion on Lewis and Clark? I don't lurk /out/ often, only a few times a year. Surely some of you look up to these guys... or not? I think they're pretty fucking based, myself. I'm currently reading Undaunted Courage and have been skimming the journals. Finished the Ken Burns documentary recently.

Have you ever been to any of the locations they visited? What is your favorite fact associated with the expedition? If you had been alive in 1803, would you have signed up? What do you think the worst aspect would have been? I read that the insects were pretty bad. Still sounds like an amazing adventure, even with the starvation and STDs.
