VERY useful for firewatch (especially at daylight hours), but from what I gather they catch way more human activity than anything else (especially at night).
We had some pretty crappy lowlight nocs in the late 90s, and that's when one station wasn't stealing them from another. It was like a little game, except humping 5+ miles to find out that the next station hadn't taken them was soul crushing...
