Use a snow saw, not a shovel. It’s quicker and easier to move big blocks.
Warmer than you expect.
If you’re in the hills, do an avalanche course first and learn to self-arrest.
If using a tent, bury the snow flaps in snow to keep it stable.
Otherwise it’s pretty much business as usual. Oh and take a plastic bag so you can keep wet boots in sleeping bag to stop them from freezing.
And a spare pair of dry gloves.
Oh if you’re pitching a tent, make some mini snow stakes out of 90deg alloy to replace regular pegs. I don’t think many people do this, but it makes pitching in snow easy and bombproof.
