Quality chainsaws by Stihl or Husqvarna are very expensive, in the thousands of dollars when you start getting up around 70-90cc, which is what you need if you are serious about firewood. There are very cheap saws available but there is no real medium ground for half decent chainsaws that are neither completely crap or complete quality and therefore expensive. Thats until i seen a YouTube channel called Gavmans Workshop. He found out that the cheap Chinese made Baumr Ag sx82 is pretty much a direct copy of the Husqvarna 372. So Gavman pulls the sx82 apart and fits a quality 52mm big bore kit to it and a 20inch bar instead of the original 24inch and the chainsaw absolutely flys though wood its the biggest hack of chainsaw history. Im buying the same saw and doing the same as Gavman. Check this out if you want a few thousand dollar saw for a few hundread.
