>>1873939Anon, my mom is a vet and we grew up with tons of animals and went /out/ a lot. As some anons said, get a harness, train your dog at least somewhat, pay attention when they bark if you're deep in it, etc. Also, may be worthwhile to get a GPS tracker for their collar (and probably chip them too) so I'd they do run off in the woods you have a chance of getting them back. Outside of this:
>Don't bring a fucking heavy coated dog camping in the middle of summer like some faggots I see. Every breed is different and some do terribly in the heat or cold. Absolutely pisses me off when I see cunts hiking with their all black heavy coat dog when it's 90* out. >Carry stuff for allergic reactions to bees (had a few dogs stick their heads in a hornet nest and fortunately my mom had stuff to help them with her), and just know if your dog reacts poorly to plants or stuff>If you hike in snake territory you can get a snake bite kit but honestly they're kind of a meme and may just have to carry your dog out. >Supplement your first aid kit with extra stuff for dogs. Burned foot pads and stuff to wrap and disinfectant them, small cuts and scrapes on their snouts, or if they're short hair on their legs, etcA little prep goes a long way, just like normal out stuff but unique because dogs are different. You'll be fine anon, but always be cautious and safe than sorry.
