How do you enjoy a nice cuppa? Recently bought into the aeropress meme and I fucking love it so far. Other things I've enjoyed:

-French press that someone else packs
-Cowboy coffee
-Instant if I'm lazy/desperate

Also looking for whiskies that pair well with coffee. Current go-to is Old Granddad

ive got the little version of this dude. i put a square of dark chocolate and a glob of BHO in before i brew it. lol this coffee maker has gotten me laid a couple of times.

For backpacking, I just suck it up and get these 3-in-1 (as in coffee, cream and sugar) Vietnamese instant coffee packets at the local Asian market. Instant's never gonna be the best, but it's good enough and you really can't beat the weight of instant packets. The Starbucks Via packets are a good second choice if you like black coffee and/or their wider availability.

I was gifted a pack of these not long ago and actually enjoy them. Too rich for my blood though so I likely won't buy more when I'm out. Instant coffee has always worked fine for me (or tea, more often than not).

I'm a huge coffee nerd and I'd rather let coffee soak in water and then just dump it into a bush. Uses less plastic too. (I grind coffee at home and then put it in a small air tight box large enough for around 30g)

I think Larceny would be a good one as well. Pretty mellow and smooth but maybe not quite as sweet as knob.

I tried a Japanese whiskey called Sensei a while back and that might be perfect honestly. I've given it to whiskey haters and they've absolutely loved it. After a nip or two it starts to taste like straight up cream soda, but not in a gross way at all. I think it would go pretty well with a coffee that's strong enough to have a thick texture, like edging into espresso territory

Gas station coffee is not comparable to it even if they use these fully automatic Espresso machines. You can't beat a fresh espresso with a few hours old coffee (or espresso) in a thermos. Still, the price is what holds me back too. Can't get over that.

Pretty hard to beat an aeropress if you want real coffee and not instant when /out/ IMO. It's really not that heavy and you can bring pre-ground beans with you. Although I do find that my setting impacts how good my coffee is. Some of my best cups have been instant coffee at a campsite before starting the day outdoors.

the one I have is over 7 years old, similar material to a nalgene triton water bottle, and still in absolutely perfect condition
haven't gone out with it but I did use it a lot, drop it, etc, it's sturdy plastic

Its a more bitter coffee but it will give you your zip and its pretty rugged. Ive seen people set their Moka pots right in the coals

at home i have $1000s worth of coffee autism
but /out/ i find the instant coffee sold under various labels that's made in germany and comes in glass bottles with many coloured squared plastic lids does a decent job
