How do I get more /out/ use with a pickup truck?

I currently use the bed to haul a single fishing pole, cheap Styrofoam cooler, 2 carhartt jackets, a plastic Walmart lockbox trunk with a lock, and trash. Just installed some thick rubber mud flaps to help with keeping dirt/dust down.

What else should I haul in the bed?

All I do is hike and fish.
Its a 2010 Ford Ranger 4x4

Get a higher lift, or bigger tires or a winch.

Maybe start putting some spares in your trunk box, maybe stow a tent in the vehicle or some tarps. I like tarps since they are really useful.

Camper shells kind of suck unless you intend to actually use them. I’d recommend painters rack actually. Can throw Custom canvas over it to create a quasi shell if you want.

It's just up to your personal preference. It can be a real pain in the ass to get stuff out of your bed, but if you plan on keeping a bunch of shit in there that you do not want stolen then it's a smart thing to have.

Just a donut. I'm really trying to solve this. What the fuck is the appeal with trucks? I drive on county owned farm roads here around wsu and ifs trucks seem meh off road. I'm still struggling to think of other things to other things. I guess just plastic bins and fuel/water tanks

I put any extra shit that I might possibly need in an emergency.

In my bed box I have:

Moving Blanket
(2) Heavy duty tie downs
Gorilla Tape
Two pairs of Mechanix gloves
LED flares
(3) Road Flares
Small toolkit
Cargo net
Cans of food and water(In the cab, under backseat)
Fire extinguisher(Under drivers side)
IFAK alongside center console
(6) Glowsticks

And when I go camping or somewhere remote, I bring oil, a jerry can of fuel, and tranny fluid. Also my BoB, which has my UV-5R.

I like being prepared, and I’m still working on what else I can keep in my truck. A tarp and tent is honestly a pretty good idea, maybe even a Bivvy.

I also drilled a Kydex holster along the drivers side door pocket, so I can carry my handgun there while driving instead of waistband. And it’s super fucking easy to draw from there

I'll save for a bigger better cooler and maybe an axe or chainsaw. Along with better cooking equipment. It's just sp shit bros. My other 3 roommates all have GFs and and another owns a f150 from 2002 crew cab with a shell. We almost never use our truck beds

Shit its been a good rig. Doesn't like deep water since its vacuum operated 4x4. I'd like to get more purpose out of my rig and quite larping as a truck owner.
