I ride my bike along a canal path. It's quite a fun ride, but sometimes in the areas with the old drainage (they are redoing a lot of it still) the water stagnates and there are just flies of all sorts and gnats and little bugs to be sucked in the mouth and nose.
I have taken to wearing a painter's mask, or at least having one on me. I have decided that the trade off for looking like a medical freak versus all those things in my orifices is worth it.
I don't suppose there is any super fancy $300 version or something that will make me look more freaky and less like M.J. in public? I thought about dabbing some fake blood right where the nostrils would be on mine...
A bandanna seems just as, if not more, "deviant" regardless of how fast I pull it down when entering a more public area.

TL;DR I need something to keep the bugs out of my nose and mouth while riding a bike. I don't want to cover my whole face if possible.
