Portable electric fence, make noise, and be smart with food storage. I doubt you’ll have problems because you probably be camping where there aren’t as many bears as you pretend there are.

put a rope around your camp site. in a pinch paracord works great also. bears and other critters are scared of rope, so they won't step over it.

Your cooking spot/fire, sleeping spot, and food storgae should form a 200ft-side triangle, if a bear comes he'll go for your food, or your fire if it's died out and there are food droppings. Your socks and farts won't hold that much interest. Mountain lions are not a thing really, unless you happen upon a female and cubs

OP all the real good animals are in zoos and nature protection zones, all of these predator species' populations have been dropped to their lowest of lows, and not mentioning population fragmentation your chances of seeing one are getting really slim.
With cougars there have been only 20 deaths since 1890 and most attacks happen when you're on the move, when they mistake you for a deer or some furry shit they like.
With bears as long as you keep anything with a smell to it 500 feet away from you in a locked bearproof container it will keep its distance from you.
Predator animals are just autists in the woods they dont like being disturbed and will keep their distance to you.
