It's a shame that Harper's Ferry's main trail is closed until the bridge reopens. I do remember the part of the AT that you have to take to hike in to Harper's Ferry, never-a-fucking-gain. Way too many rocks, complete pain in my ass to walk on solid pavement for that long after the hike too, fuck that bridge.
>>1882329W.VA is the Monogahela National Forest, hands down, some of the best backpacking destinations bar fucking none. Just don't hike the fire roads (ever) it's not fun. Dolly Sods wilderness is popular as fuck for a wilderness area, if you want easy, go in from the north, if you want dick ass hard yet fewer people, go in from the south.
